Clean and care
There is almost nothing to maintain. This is the whole routine.

1
Cleaning it
Wipe them with a damp cloth, or use a little isopropyl alcohol for stubborn grime. For a deep clean, take the covers off one by one and rinse them under the tap. They're dishwasher safe in theory, but I'd skip it: the detergent and heat are hard on the material.

2
Storing it
It can stay right where you use it. Most people leave it under the desk, behind it, or stand it on its end against the wall next to it. If you need the floor back, it goes on its side or slides under a bed with 21 cm of clearance, and it rolls there on its front wheels. There is no cable to coil and nothing electronic to keep dry.

3
Child safety lock
Keep the two locks it shipped with, the ones wedged into the holes at the top, one on each side. They double as a child lock: slide them back in whenever you're not walking and it can't roll forward or backward. Pull them out again before you step on.

A cover, if you want one
If it lives in a dusty room, near a sunny window, or you just like it out of sight, a fitted cover keeps dust and sun off the slats and the wood. We don't make one yet, but I found one on Amazon that fits it surprisingly well.
