Does a walking pad need a dust cover?
As promised, here's the second quick update. This one with a poll about a frequently requested accessory.
Several of you asked for a cover to protect the Office Walker from dust while it's not in use. We thought about it a lot and after an intensive development process, countless iterations, and rigorous fit testing, I proudly present our tailor-made, precision-engineered Office Walker protective cover:

But here's the thing: when we sketched out concepts for a dust cover, what we came up with was basically... a fitted sheet. So instead of overengineering it, I just ordered one to test. And honestly? It fits quite well.
Before we decide whether to develop a proper Office Walker version, order a bunch of readily available fitted sheets, or leave it up to you, I'd like to know what you think. Is this something you'd actually use, or does covering it up defeat the purpose of a nice-looking product?
Fun fact: a similar question is currently up for debate on our end anyway. Our test shipment showed that the Office Walker needs some kind of cover inside the box. Otherwise it arrives coated in cardboard dust from the packaging. So we're weighing whether to wrap it in exactly this kind of fitted sheet for shipping, or to use a plastic bag instead. I'd honestly prefer to avoid the plastic if we can, but we'd first have to test whether the sheet holds up in real shipping, so nothing is decided yet.
That's also why your input matters here: the real question is whether a simple fitted sheet like this would be good enough from your perspective, or whether it's worth developing a proper custom-made cover.

Update, 18 September 2026: the dust cover verdict
Thank you for all the input! The result was roughly split, a bit more than half of you would use a dust cover, the rest wouldn't or didn't like that option. So it's something we'll keep evaluating rather than a must-have for everyone.
Your comments also surfaced a real weakness I hadn't fully considered: the fitted sheet might not be as effective a dust protector as hoped, since the underside stays open 🤦♂️ To know for sure, we'd need to properly test it (including in a test shipment) and right now we simply don't have the time for that.
So here's the plan: for shipping, we'll work with recycled plastic bags for now, and potentially switch to a fabric solution later once we can run a proper test. And in the meantime, the beauty of the fitted-sheet discovery remains: if you want a dust cover for daily use, a baby crib fitted sheet costs very little and does a solid job.
