Office Walker, or Walkolution?

It works the other way around from a motorized pad. Nothing sets a pace for you. Push off and the belt follows, ease up and it slows, stop and it stops the same moment you do. Walking on a curved manual pad feels unusual for the first day or two, and after that you stop thinking about it. If you want to pause for a tricky email, you just stand still. There is no button to find and no speed to cancel.

It is what many people search for as an under desk treadmill, but the manual kind. There is no motor, the belt moves because you do, and that is exactly why it is quiet, draws nothing, and lasts. We call it a walking pad.

Not perfectly on day one, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. Typing while walking takes a day or two to get used to. Wrist rests help more than anything else. After that short adjustment most people are back to their usual speed, and because the pad only moves when you do, you can stop dead for precise mouse work and start again without touching anything.

Most standing desks work. The Office Walker adds 14 cm under your feet, so the test is simple: raise your desk to a comfortable standing height, and if it can go 14 cm higher, you are set. For reference, Johannes is 183 cm tall, stands at a desk height of 107 cm, and sets it to 121 cm when walking. If you are buying a desk anyway, a four legged frame wobbles less at walking height than a two legged one.

In daily use it measures around 33 to 45 dB depending on pace. In practice that means you can take a call while walking and the person on the other end will not know. There is no motor, so there is no hum that grows over the years either. What you hear is your own footsteps.

There is no recommended daily limit, use it as long as you like. The test unit at Intertek in Nuremberg has logged over 3,000 km on the test rig with no visible wear, and a second test presses 150 kg onto the deck for over 100,000 cycles. Maximum user weight is 150 kg, tested.

You replace the part, not the pad. The unit opens for self repair with tools you already have at home, and we provide spare parts and video guides. Within the warranty, if the wear is not your fault, the replacement part is free. It is built to be repaired for decades, not replaced.

It weighs 25 kg and rolls on front wheels. You can stand it upright against a wall, flip it onto its side, or slide it under a bed or couch with 21 cm of clearance. It was designed to be treated like furniture, so it can also simply stay where it is.

Because it is built to a different plan. More than a year went into development, production happens in Berlin, and the frame is wood and steel instead of a sealed plastic case around a motor. The bearings are Italian steel, built to industrial standard. A cheap pad is priced to be replaced. This one is priced to be repaired, with every part on the shelf.
